I feel as though nutrition is an area that is often neglected--eating the right way can help promote recovery and helps adaptation take place through the season. Eating junk all the time can leave the body deficient in many vital minerals and vitamins as well as add excess body fat which can hinder performance.
I am currently a pescatarian which essentially means I eat seafood but no meat. I base most of what I eat on the concept that all food should have purpose. Before I eat something I like to ask myself why I am about to eat. If I just came from the track I will eat for the purpose of recovery; if I had just woken up I'll eat for the purpose of fueling up for the day.

Eating healthy can be a challenge, especially on the road--getting enough protein while minimizing sodium, saturated fats and sugar. But I love my diet and knowing that I'm fueling my body the best way I can.

Here are a few staples in my diet, the pictures are blurry since they were taken with my blackberry but you get the idea!
